Description
The 17.9 hectare (44.2 acre) climat – a Burgundian term for single-vineyard site – lies in the eastern quadrant of the Santenay commune, not far from the boundary with Chassagne-Montrachet. It lies on the same level of southeast-facing hillside as La Comme to the northeast and Clos Faubard to the southweast. Being at the southern, rounded tip of the Côte d’Or escarpment, Beauregard, like many of Santenay‘s vineyard sites is blessed with excellent exposure to the sun.
As its name suggests, (Beauregard means “beautiful view”) the vineyard is blessed with an excellent view over the river plain of the Saône to the east.
“This is aromatically similar to the Comme Dessus but with a pretty floral top note. There is a bit more volume and solid mid-palate concentration to the opulent yet punchy medium weight flavors that also conclude in a bitter lemon-inflected finish that displays slightly better persistence. This too is really quite lovely and worth checking out” 90 points, Outstanding, Allen Meadows Burghound.
